[Plugin: WP-Syntax] How to ignore for html5?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make WP-Syntax ignore in the wrapper or make the plugin respond to instead of

?

I've recently read that proper HTML5 structure is 

 which currently prints  inside the syntax highlighting.
