[Plugin: WP-Table Reloaded] Importing data

    Hi there

    I’ve had a quick search through the forum but not really found anything to help me.

    I want to import a table which is currently an Excel spreadsheet. I have tried doing it as html and removing any formatting but this doesn’t work. I’m not familiar with xml files but tried it anyway and this didn’t work either. So I uploaded a csv file which worked, but each cell in the new table contained the whole row of values with commas, rather than separating them back into the same format as Excel displays them… does that make sense?

    By that description does anyone know if I am doing something basic wrong, or do i have to manually edit the import file each time… as there is no point to the import feature for me if that is the case :/

    For anybody having the same problem:

    I found a way around this by instead of exporting the html directly from Excel, I made a new html file in Dreamweaver, created a new table, copied and pasted the data from Excel into this table, saved the html through Dreamweaver and hey presto, it uploaded perfectly to WP-Table Reloaded

    great to hear that you finally found a solution 🙂

    Unfortunately not all versions of Excel seem to work consistently with the export, but generally CSV is recommended.
