[Sorry if this double posts, but I went back to add a comment on the original and keep getting some mysterious message that the topic’s closed instead.]

Using 2.4.5, I set the Twitter template as:

    #title# #url# - my_custom_field

(With my_custom_field properly double-bracketed. wp.org is converting that to a codex link and I can’t get around it.)

The field had a simple HTML link in it, which got entity-encoded, looking ridiculous in the resulting Twitter update.

Is there some way to set the plugin to strip HTML instead? I can’t see any case in which sending HTML to Twitter, in any form, makes sense.

That’s a good idea. There isn’t a reason to ever send HTML to Twitter, definitely. This is very easily taken care of, so I’ll do it for the next version.
