[Plugin: Yet Another Related Posts Plugin] Automatic display always shown

I’d like to print related_posts(); directly in my template files. But even with “Automatically display related posts?” unchecked, the default output of the plugin is still showing on single posts and pages. Anyone else experiencing this?
