Are you talking about multi-site or standalone?
A stand alone, the subdomain is created off-site. But hosted on my main domain.

Does you subdomain lead to the same WP installation or a different one in another subdirectory? Every installation uses the same code base regardless of how many subdomains it might respond to. Different installations use different files. You’d then need to install the same plugin in each installation.
I suppose you could symlink to a plugin’s files from another subdirectory, but it’s unlikely to be worth the effort.
There is no wordpress dashboard. Essentially it’s a web based app.
