So if you deactivate the theme those plugins come back?
Are they still physically on the server?

They are still on the server.
Looks like there was a security issue with the MailPoet plugin. MailPoet says I need to restore back to July 1. Have checked with GoDaddy, my host, and I can restore back to 30 days. So, now I need to figure-out how best to save the posts, pages, photos, etc, that were done after July 1st before I restore.

Looks to be the case. Still working with MailPoet to see if it can be fixed without restoring.
