• Hi, Since updating to 6.05 I have found that ALL of my plugins keep being disabled after a short time. I manually activate them all again, checked that Plugin organiser is running and the selective plugin loading is on – it remembers the plugin preferences I had selected for certain pages, and then after a number of hours, all the plugins are deactivated again. Any thoughts as to what is going on?

  • Apologies for my lack of response but been busy with other stuff.

I’ve been running PO on my homepage since last night and everything seems ok.

I don’t run swiftsecurity but I do run Ithemes, but I think that’s a really good plugin. Anyway as I said all seems good so far.

The only thing I’m slightly concerned at is when I was troubleshooting another plugin problem I can’t disable PO anymore without the site becoming blank.

Ithemes security does a lot of the same things SwiftSecurity does. It could be causing the problem.

When the site goes blank do you get a PHP error in your server logs? A blank site usually means a 500 error which should generate an error log.

I’ll look into the error log shortly actually not sure how to do it, so just looking up now.

What are your thoughts about the security plugin – I obviously want to use both and as I mentioned since last night I have been running both sucessfully and will keep my eye on over the next few day.

even if it turns out you have to do all the PO stuff and then endable the security plugin would work for me – just as long as we could confirm that nothing changed after.

The only other thing that I can think of that happened in the earlier days before your update was when I changed the order of the plugin load up. That seems to have been lost. Anyway im waffling incoherently. got to go to work.

With the swiftsecurity plugin I went to the global plugins page and turned a plugin off. Then went to the homepage. When I returned to the admin the plugin had been deactivated. Try doing that with your security plugin to see if the plugin gets deactivated. I can’t test it myself since it’s a premium plugin that I don’t own.
The error log for php depends on your server setup. You’ll have to find out from your hosting company or server admin where that is located. Or go to the /var/log/httpd directory on your server. That is the usual place it is located. If you are on shared hosting you may not have access to it.

Sorry for poor reporting – but you all know what its all like.

so it looks like a theme issue when i deactvate all the plugin, I get this in my error log

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get_active_plugins() on null in /home/gutterti/public_html/files/themes/customizr/header.php on line 4

However I have a lot of errors from different plugins – two basically that I am waiting to hear back from – these are know and reported, so maybe they have something to do with it. My theme authors about to release an update shortly, so lets wait to see if that fixes the deactivating issue.

I’ve had no issues with plugins being switched off globally for a couple of days now.

I like ithemes plugin when i get a chance I will give you a bit of a run down as to how I have it configured.
