What happens after it says its downloading?
It does absolutely nothing. I appreciate any of your ideas.
it could be a web server configuration problem, which then I would recommend just manually downloading the plugin, unzipping it, then uploading it to the wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Hi,
If you are installing from wordpress admin panel then make sure that you have set 766 recursive permissions to wp-content directory.
Thanks,
Shane G.
1. It is 766. π At least one thing is right!
2. Manual uploads are no better, wordpress recognizes it in the plugin menu, but when i click to activate it I get a 500 error. If i attempt to look at it in the editor, there is nothing there.
Actually, the plugins dir should be 755, not 766.
Try 755 instead.
If you’re getting 500 errors, I’d talk to your web host, it could be a bad setup.
Yeah no go.
As for the 500, that’s what I was afraid of… talk about opening a whole can of worms. Are there any common causes for a 500 in this case?
Could it be something with the .htaccess file? Would that cause some plugins to work and not others?
My website domain takes me to the wordpress folder, which is within another folder. So instead of the domain name’s physical path point to “/wordpress” it points to “/foldername/wordpress”
Hi,
Check with these options too:
-> Disable all the plugins
-> Remove all unwanted code from htaccess
Thanks.
Shane G.
Didn’t work either, so frustrating, but thanks for all the ideas!
BTW, my comment rating plugin threw out this message in the control settings, does that give any information as to my issues?
