Hi @junenjn91,
Thank you for choosing Head&Footer Code for your project!
We’ll need the exact error message. Please check your inbox.
Cheers,
Aleksandar
Hi Aleksandar,
I checked my inbox and there is no message. The error pops up “there has been a critical error on this website.” and disable to do anything. I had to contact Cloudways agent to fix it.
They have deactivated the plugin, and when I try to activate it again, the error shows again.
I have two other domains using this plugin, and never experienced this kind of issue.

Thank you for mentioning it works on the other two websites. There is some incompatibility on that particular WP instance or server. Can you then please do the following:
- Enable debugging in WordPress as per article Debugging in WordPress – ww.wp.xz.cn Documentation
- Activate Head&Footer Code plugin from Plugins page
- Disable debugging in WordPress (reverse step 1 above)
- Provide here full fatal error track from file /wp-content/debug.log
It would also help if you advise on WP and PHP versions you use.
Thanks,
Aleksandar
Hi Aleksandar,
It is hard for me to follow debugging process…. cloudways agent said there is issue with the plugin file… so maybe it is not compatible with my site?
I use 6.2.2 version for WP and PHP version is 8.2.6.
Hello again,
Apart couple of Deprecated notices on PHP 8.2.6, Head & Footer Code 1.3.1 works on fresh and existing WordPress 6.2.2. Unfortunately, we cannot fix the issue if we don’t know the cause.
Please let me know are you able to do anything of following:
- Get on your website developer to enable debugging and provide the exact error message from /wp-content/debug.log
- Ask your hosting support to enable debugging in WP for you and provide the exact error message from /wp-content/debug.log, or at least what error it is because “cloudways agent said there is issue with the plugin file” cannot help us to know what exact error is causing the issue.
- Or uninstall module from this website and reinstall it again.
Aleksandar
Hello @junenjn91, please let me know have you resolved the issue? If you have not, I hope you can work out with server support or your developer and send over wp-content/debug.log
Kind regards,
Aleksandar
