Have you checked to see if they’re compatible with WP 2.8?
Hi,
First disable all installed plugins and then install the/activate the plugin on one by one to find out the culprit..and also check the plugins compatibility with wordpress 2.8…
Thanks,
Shane G.
Hi Shane,
How can I disable the plugins since I can’t see them on my installed page?
Thanks.
What exactly did you upload into the plugins folder? Zip files or individual plugin folders/files?
I have both zip and folders/files? But I also have plugins that I installed directly from wordpress plugin search tool. Does that help?
Not really. Can you FTP into your site and see exactly what is in the wp-content/plugins folder?
Yes I can. If I gave you a list of them, would that help? I really appreciate your help.
Shouldn’t need a list. Just tell me if you can:
1. See individual folders within the wp-content/plugins folder
2. See at least 1 or more PHP files within each of the individual folders
Are any plugins appearing on your Plugins page?
1. I see individual folders within wp-content/plugins folder.
2. Yes, at least 1 PHP file in each folder.
I do have 3 single PHP files (ex. pagesplus.php) within my wp-content/plugins folder.
I can’t see any plugins on my “installed plugin page” it just reads Manage Plugins at the top and blank after that, I can see all of them on the “editor plugin page” tho.
I think the culprit plugin is Organize Series, Category Post or Social Bookmarks. I now realize they are not compatible with WP 2.8.
Try renaming the plugins folder via FTP. Then move the plugins across to a new plugins folder 1 by 1 – activating each one after installation and then refreshing the Manage Plugins page. Leave the 3 you mentioned alone for now.
Let me know how you get on.
YES!!!! That worked. I moved the plugins back one-by-one except the one I think was causing this (organize-series).
Thanks so much! I think I learned my lesson of not installing plugins that aren’t compatible with the WordPress version I am using..
