No problem Otto. I was done experimenting anyway. 😉 Everything is all good for me now. I just wanted to pass on what worked for me. Like I said in my disclaimer – it could all just be coincidental or something you corrected on the back end while I was experimenting. 🙂
Thanks,
Ed
Otto,
If you have time, please check http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/last-modified-posts/
I changed this twice the last month, but the date isnt updated and it didnt pop up @ the latest updated plugins
I released a new version of BPS and the Last Updated Date did not update nor did my readme.txt file have the latest updated content. So I just added 1 asterisk to the end of the == Changelog == section for = .46.1 = of my readme.txt file for the new tagged version ONLY and did another commit. The Last Updated Date updated almost instantly. I did not update the readme.txt file for the Trunk and did nothing else, but that one simple thing. Thanks.
Ed
I’m seeing similar behavior (last updated date doesn’t update) on my plugin: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/post-thumbnail-editor/
Is this issue still being researched or is it closed?
Nevermind, it appears to have worked after all.
Sorry to tag you again Otto, I’m sure you’re a busy person.
My plugin, wpStoreCart:
http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/wpstorecart/
is not updating the “Last Updated” time since 2011-2-1, although I’ve released 4 updates since then. I know the “Last Updated” is just for show, but as others have stated, it makes it look like the plugin is not being maintained, which is very harmful in attracting new downloads, and it also keeps us off the “Recently Updated” list, which is also very harmful in attracting new downloads.
I know how it goes through, trying to tie in different interfaces together and having some obscure user issue pop up, with subsequent support issues arising. Still, I would desperately love some help in this matter, to know if there’s something on my end I am doing wrong, or if there’s anything I can do.
Is this guy’s theory on this issue correct:
http://webtide.wordpress.com/2011/04/18/wordpress-plugin-svn-tip-how-to-resolve-the-last-updated-issue/
I’m thinking it isn’t because I have always done the SVN commits the exact way he describes.
Anyway, all help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
So right after writing this post I released a new version and the plugin Last Updated finally updated!
Hooray, our “updated date” has finally changed with todays update – it was stuck on December 2010 despite 3 or 4 other updates in 2011…
I have the same problem which i just updated my plugin but the “Last Updated” did not get update..
I check my wordpress admin panel, no new version detected to upgrade. So the plugin users wont be able to get the new release with bug fixed..

Any help?
Hi,
Same problem for http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/wp-e-commerce-featured-product/.
I’m using tagging to indicate the stable version.
Please let me know if I’m doing something wrong.
Thanks.
Z
Otto, readme.txt and the plugin’s main file both reflect 1.3.13, but the directory shows 1.3.11. It has been 21 hours since I updated / tagged.

Thanks for the help.
I’m facing the same issue with my plugin too. I updated twice after May 8, but it is still showing the old date.

Hi,
same problem for
http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/send-e-mail/stats/
I’m using tagging to indicate the stable version.
The download button is updated but label “Last Updated:” report a very old date: “2009-12-21”.
Please can check this issue and update the “Last Updated” correctly ?
Thanks in advance,
Paolo

Thank you.
