• Hi Jeff,

I reported a few month ago a ticket here because I had an event plugin who was causing randomly 404 over my whole site, and I removed my plugin.
I noticed someone else reported the same problem with events.

I’m using now another event plugin, and I have again 404 pages all over my site ; it’s an intermittent issue. Usually when reloading page it’s coming back. But switching between two pages, and 404 is here (but not always, randomly, so the bug is hard to fix)
I noticed 404s never occurs in homepage neither on forum page (which is buddypress, so maybe specific permalinks).

Of course, if I deactivate PO, all is OK.

I think there is a strong general incompatibility between PO and events plugins.
Do you have an idea about it ? Something is wrong with permalinks. I need your useful plugin, but also event plugins.
I can give you a copy of my event plugin if you need, to have a look on this trouble…

Thank you to help us !

Can you send me the plugin you are having trouble with? The trouble I had recently was an events plugin that was doing something with the rewrite rules. They fixed something in their plugin and it worked. I couldn’t tell what was wrong with what they were doing but I can take a look at yours. Or you can you give me a link to download it.

I just installed the plugin and I can get a list of events to show up on a page when I insert the shortcode. Going to view the event I get a 404 error. It is the same with or without plugin organizer active.

I went to the permalinks page and resaved my permalink structure. Everything is working now. Every time I activate the plugin I have to go to the permalinks page and resave my permalink structure before the custom posts work. It doesn’t matter which plugins are active.

    Thank you Jeff,

they said sometimes events 404 can occur – for me it was OK without refreshing permalinks..

For my issue, the 404s are not specifically on event pages but on all static pages, except homepage and buddypress pages (with specific permalinks I imagine). Each time I had to refresh my permalinks, fixing the problem.
BUT, after a while, the 404 were suddenly and randomly back (randomly because sometimes pages are OK sometimes they are not found.)
I noticed 404 are occuring more often when I’m switching from Buddypress forum to a static page, as if the browser doesn’t know permalinks rules when coming from Buddypress permalinks.

-> As I explained you by email, I temporarily fixed my issue by enabling my Event Plugin on

      ALL pages

. This solution is so-so, but it’s working until now.
If you find out what is the issue, it would be amazing, but I understand if you don’t have time for that 😉

The issue is with the events plugin then. If it works when it is enabled on all pages then it needs to register it’s custom post type and you won’t be able to disable it. I didn’t see anything that would cause that in the plugin but it is a big plugin.
