Polylang and frontpage issues

    I am having an issue where if i activate the Polylang plugin (v 2.2.1) my frontpage doesn’t display at all. It is blank. When i inspect the page i see that the body tags are empty:

    <body></body>

    The website when migrated to a local machine works fine, including when the plugin is activated. Also if i navigate to any other page on my website via URL, they also work fine. What can be causing this?
