    Dearest all,

I’m getting crazy with the two plugins in the title. I’ve got a multilanguage website (7 languages) I’d like to have an event page for each language and I’m using polylang and events manager.

I can’t let wordpress understand this, I cloned the event page of the main language without result, I would like to get an event page with its relative translation that changes languages if I change the selector… It’s been 5 hours I’m on this issue without a solution and It is getting very annoying….

Thanks in advance to those who will help me!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • EM was not optimised for Polylang, but it was for WPML. The main developer of EM even wrote a specific add-on for those two: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/events-manager-wpml/

    Hi Patrick!
    Thanks for your reply!

So I should change polylang with wpml!

What a nice thing after having spent 15 hours creating all the pages and linking them…

Yeah, that will be hassle, but luckily just one time.
My personal advise would be: “Yes, switch to WPML”. Mainly because then EM Support (which I am not part of, btw) can can assist you more, as it is being supported. 😉

When I started using EM about 5 years ago, there were still several issues with the WPML add-on. I ended up sending half-translated emails, etc. So I finally decided upon creating a WP MultiSite with a blog per language. Then linking them together using the MultiSite Language Switcher plugin.

That setup might be a bit more cumbersome, but is does give me 100% full control over every single aspect and output. (Some pages did not have to be translated from Dutch to English, due to their content.)

If you have just two languages (like me) switching to MultiSite is quite easy. Create the new blog, manually copy the translated WPML texts to the new blog. Uninstall WPML, then install the MSLS.

    But…
Again, that was a long time ago In the meantime there have been several updates in both WPML and the EM WPML add-on so I might expect things to work much better (if not perfectly) now. 😀

    Hello,

As Patrick have mentioned, Currently EM is not optimized for Polylang. I myself only used Polylang once. This is due to compatibility issues. I think most plugins nowadays have more compatibility with WPML.

If you want to have Events that are translated on multiple languages, I think your best approach is to use WPML then you would need to Install our EM and WPML Compatibility which was sent by Patrick previously.
