Polylang & Nextgen Gallery

Hi,
I’ve read many posts about issues with the nextgen gallery but haven’t seen anything that solves my problem.
I have a gallery page in English (default lang) and a translation of it in Hebrew. I wanted to use the same image gallery in both pages, but have the descriptions in the correct language for each page.
After uploading the images I went into the strings translation and gave a translation for each image description in Hebrew.
Then I put the same gallery in both pages, but the Hebrew page is showing the English descriptions.
I am using a child theme of Twenty Twelve.

Anyone know how to solve this? Am I doing something wrong? I would rather not have to upload each image twice for the galleries.
