• Hi,
I run a pool league with 8 leagues, with each league having 6 teams, with each team having 6 players.

I’d like to be able to enter each players individual scores from a match where 5 frames are played (so I can buy the pro version later and list the stats on the players own page).

Can these scores be added up individually and for the team, with an overall win/loss/draw for each team recorded and the league tables automatically updated.

How do I create the player and league tables?

    Thanks
    Nick

  • Hi Nick!

    Thanks for reaching out.

In your case, you could just have a setup similar to any team sport. Each frame would be an event result variable (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, total).

The downside is that the individual matchups wouldn’t be stored and you’d have only the aggregate result.

    Thanks!

So even with the pro version (with the player stats bits) I can’t do what I want.
So if 3 players played each other on an evening, I can enter the frame scores and get them stored.
The issue is the match frame score, which I can’t get automatically by getting the system to compare each frame score and marking the final evening score as total frame score, like 5-4.
Does the snooker sport option do it?

I do what you are trying to do with my pool league. It takes a little bit of set-up, but it works really well. In mine, each frame is a 3 game match, 4 frames per night. You can use the players’ individual stats as a part of the final score. So for mine, if you win 2 out of 3, you get stats of 2 wins and 1 loss, and the team score is set to automatically add up each individual player’s wins as team points. You have to do a custom sport league and build all the variables and game structure yourself from scratch. You can definitely do what you are trying to do, and I use the free version for now. chicosummerleague.com is my site.

Sounds great, did you find any documentation on how to do the variables etc?
Did you have to use the Pro version?

Hey @radio1017x Thanks for sharing this!

    That’s a great idea indeed.

@nixwebsites If you don’t want to use the Pro features (tournament module, front-end score submission) you won’t need the Pro version. The free version can do what is stated above.

As for variables, we don’t have any docs for this, but you can create them all under SportsPress > Configure. Let’s see if radio1017x can share his setup.

    Thanks!

No, I use the free version for now, planning to upgrade soon to do live tournaments and take fees online. I didn’t have any special documentation besides what is on the Sportspress dashboard, there’s links to a manual, I watched some of the video tutorials, and at the end I just made some fake players, a couple fake teams, scheduled a fake event, and then started playing around with the settings and variables, and saw what it changed on the players and the events until I figured it out. It took me a weekend to get it set up from scratch.

I remember how daunting and frustrating it seemed when I didn’t understand what correlated to what, so I’d be happy to share my set-up, how do I do that?

I think I’ll need to have a play aswell. I just need to figure out how to record event results, allowing me to record the results of each player against each other, and also the overall match result by frame.
