Popular posts using only logged users visits

    Hi,

    I recently upgraded to WP 4.6 and to the latest WPP plugin release. But popular posts don’t work correctly anymore. Just after the upgrade all popular posts lists were empty with a “sorry, no data so far” message. And now only views from logged-in users are logged, but not visitors ones. I saw there’s an option for that in WPP settings, but it is set to “Log views from everyone” so I think it’s OK. Any idea what could cause my problem ?

    By the way I saw that other people had similar problems when using WPP with Cloudflare’s Rocket Loader but this is not my case.

    Hi @chawax,

    Indeed, in your case the problem isn’t Cloudflare but something else. Are you using a security / firewall plugin? I’m seeing 401 (unauthorized) errors whenever WPP tries to update the views count of a post or a page: screenshot.

    I just found where my problem came from ! It is because of Disable Rest API plugin. I had disabled WordPress API for non logged users and that caused a 401 error on WPP Ajax requests. I authorized WPP API for everyone in Disable Rest API plugin and it works OK now. Hope it will help people who used such a wrong configuration !
