I recently updated to WordPress 6.0.1 (from 5.9.3) and updated PopupBuilder as well (4.1.12). When adding the popup to the page in the WordPress editor, the block seems to work fine (i.e. I see the bear logo, and there are two dropdowns to choose from). However, when saving/publishing the page, and then reloading the editor (or switching to another WordPress page and back), the PopupBuilder block shows an error in the area of the bear logo:
Dit blok bevat onverwachte of ongeldige inhoud. (i.e. This block contains unexpected or wrong content)

The short code underneath seems fine:
    [sg_popup id=”222″ event=”onLoad”][/sg_popup]

Wordpress suggests to try “Block repair”, but when I do so I get back to where I started (i.e. PopupBuilder block works again, but after saving/publishing the page and reloading the page in the editor I get the same block error again)

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Dear @psychosomatiekenergiek,

We are sorry to hear that you are facing issues.
We checked the concern with the tech team and it seems that we are having an issue at the moment. Please note that we added it on our bug list and will let you know once it is fixed.
Meanwhile, we would suggest you a workaround to give a temporary solution.
Once you receive the previously mentioned error message (This block contains unexpected or wrong content), please click on three dots you have in that block and choose “Convert to HTML”. See the screenshot here https://prnt.sc/EM74_mUSM5OI
Afterwards, please update your popup and it should work.

    Regards,
    Popup Builder Team

When using the proposed workaround, I still don’t see the popup appearing on the website. I used an incognito-window, to make sure there were no old cookies involved or anything.

When looking at the latest revision of my homepage I see the following (after applying the workaround):

    <!-- wp:html -->
    [sg_popup id="222" event="onLoad"][/sg_popup]
    <!-- /wp:html -->

Is the sg_popup information properly interpreted in this way (since wordpress will try to interpret this code as standard html code)?

    Kind regards

    Dear @psychosomatiekenergiek,

To see if the sg_popup information properly interpreted we will need the following details:

    1. The System Information file which can be retrieved from here:

How to Retrieve the “System Information” File
You can use https://wetransfer.com/ to send the file to us (the Get a Link option).

Choose the Get Transfer Link option and then place the link in this chat – https://prnt.sc/_lQH0Rh20sme

    2. Screenshots from the popup Events and Display Rules sections

Also, could you please confirm if this is the URL https://www.psychosomatiek-energiek.nl/ where the popup is supposed to be triggered ?

I just found out that there still was an incompatibility between the theme I was using (an older version of Seventeen with some small manual changes) and the new version of WordPress. I updated to the latest version of Seventeen, and the popup is working now.

The original problem is still present though.

I checked, but the PopupBuilder block still gives the error I described in the original post, but with the workaround it is useable. Thanks for all the support!

    Dear @psychosomatiekenergiek,

We are happy to hear that the popup is working now.
Please kindly note that the original issue is already on our bug list.
We will do our best to fix it as soon as possible.
    We will keep you posted.
Once again accept our apologies for any inconveniences.

    Regards,
    Popup Builder Team
