    Looks like a premium featured using a custom post type and CPT templates with a fair amount of CSS code for the effects.

    You could hand code this but would require a fair amount of experience.

    Or you could use the native WordPress gallery or a gallery plugin which uses custom post types

    It’s in the free theme. Everything in the free version demo is built with the free theme.

    To create a portfolio you need to activate the virtue toolkit plugin. Then follow this: http://www.kadencethemes.com/creating-a-portfolio-page-with-virtue/

    The Gallery portfolio is built by simply adding a wordpress gallery to the portfolio post content.
