Hi Brian, I see that you have Jetpack active, the next step would be to activate the Custom Post Types module in your Jetpack Settings. Once you do that, a new Portfolio posts type should appear in your sidebar. Let me know how it goes!
So my portfolio tab is now showing and I am able to add projects, however i think they are still showing up as posts rather than the portfolio layout I’m looking for with thumbnails. I still don’t have the Portfolio option in my settings > writtings.

Hi, are you setting a featured image for your Portfolio Projects?
that was it – thanks for your response! this is very much a learning experience for me, I appreciate your help.
Hi, I have WP managed hosting with 1and1. I am using the Argent theme but there is no “portfolio” tab in my sashboard. I want the site to look the same as the Argent theme layout but obviously just change the colour schemes and images to match my own needs. I am new to WP and the is the first time I am creating a website using WP. Please help.
Thanks in advance
rftuk – welcome to WordPress! You’ll need to activate the Jetpack plugin‘s Custom Content Types module to access portfolios on your site, as mentioned above.
If you need further help after doing that, would you mind please starting a new thread, as this one is old and already resolved? Thanks!
