Installed this excellent plugin on one site on my own server and, (with your help earlier today), it is now working perfectly. Tried to install it on another site that uses a shared hosting account but the connectivity test is reporting that the ports are closed. The site in question has its MX record pointing to a 3rd party hosted email server (outlook.com). The host is trying to tell me that their ports are open and that it is the ports on the 3rd party hosted server that are closed. Does this sound right to you? If I run the connectivity test using smtp.gmail.com I don’t see that the fact the MX record is pointing elsewhere should make any difference and that the issue lies with the server where the site is hosted? Or are they correct?

    Many thanks,
    Benz1

Postman’s Connectivity Test shows two results: Outbound to Internet and Service Available.

If Outbound to Internet says Open and Service Available says No, your host is correct.

If Outbound to Internet says Closed, your host is incorrect.

Note, if you are using Outlook.com’s email service, then the SMTP server to test against is smtp.office365.com.

Thanks, will go back to the host and tell them this…
