    Hello Dan,

    I hope you’re well.

In view of Google making a bunch of changes the other day which caused my peformance scores to suddenly nosedive, I’m trying to scrape some of the results back!

I wanted to ask – does it make a difference for page loading speed having the tracking code in the header vs the footer?

    Thank you for your help.

    Michael.

Not if the script runs asynchronously, but if you want to be sure, use the footer. Also, you can test and see (gtmetrix, pingdom, etc).

Hi Gal, I have the setting as “asynchronous” in CAOS. Would it be better to select Default?

    Default + footer = asynchronous + header 🙂

Both settings are equally optimal. 🙂

Ah OK – in which case that’s great as I have it set to asynchronous and header. Just trying to eek out a few more points so I an get my scores back into the green! Bloody Google 😉
