Possible bug report

As a follow up to my previous question on the ability to do both case sensitive + whole word searches, I am able to do so in the Lite version but with a glitch.
I have set the default search function to be replaced by Ajax Search Lite, using the “force case sensitivity” option with the plugin. If I want to search for a specific term or a single letter (necessary with my site for stock symbols), I can do so by surrounding the letter or word with blank spaces on each side & quotes outside of that.
However, the initial search always returns a “No results!” message in the drop-down box below the search field. BUT, if I then click on the search icon, the correct results will be returned with the search page opens. I’ve also noticed similar instances searching for terms without the blank spaces on each side (No results! in the drop-down but the results showing if I then click the search icon).
