Possible to apply column sorting with posts-to-posts plugin?

Hi folks, I’m using the fantastic posts-to-posts plugin to handle some relationships between custom post types, all works as expected, but I have one question. I have one relationship configured to show as a column on the admin page and I’d like for that column to be sortable. I’m not sure this is possible given that relationships aren’t stored in typical meta tables. Any ideas on whether this is at all possible?
