Post html is incomplete

    When I try to add a style to a post I find the html is missing the html and body tags.

    Will I goof things up if I add these tags so I can put in a page level style?

    Here is one of the posts on my site. WordPress 2013 is the theme.

    The posts display fine. I think there is no problem, except my understanding of how things work.

    My guess is that the html I don’t see in the posts (<html> and <body>) my be added at another level: maybe PHP or CSS.

    I am studying HTML5 and CSS3 but I probably only know enough at this point to get myself in trouble!
