Post in categories

    Have set categories in place of page titles to enable my posts to be assigned to each relevent category. Problem is that posts only show in summary and not “full text” despite being set to “full text” in “reading” tab under “settings” Have I missed something?

    That option is for feeds, not actual posts. To set lenght of excerpts you can use this snippet

    As of today, with new Customizr version, 3.0.14, option for choosing lenght of posts (excerpts or full content) in lists is incorporated into the theme. Just select what you need at yoursite.com/wp-admin/customize.php , “Pages & Posts Layout” tab

    Great I updated to latest version 3.0.14 and all fine.

    Is there some code I can add to hide the “This entry was posted in ******* and tagged ******** on each post?

    you need to add

    .entry-meta {
display: none;
}

    to your custom css or style.css of the child theme
