• Hello,

Our WordPress instance uses a magazine style of posting. It’s not necessarily a up-to-the-minute news feed. We run a new issue every night of approximately 8-10 articles.

Currently we are running into a problem when we decide to re-run an article.

What happens is, we are arranging the posts by date as default by the WordPress loop. We are having to duplicate a post, so that the original permalink doesn’t get messed up.

I’m wondering if anyone out there is similar to us, or knows of a way so that we can re-run the same article without duplicating.

The problems we are running into:
    – Several duplicate articles.
    – Comments getting lost on the original article.
    – Overall bloated number of posts due to duplications.

Would it be best just to drop the year/month/day out of the permalink? So that way we can re-run a post without the permalink getting messed up?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have.
