Hi there @mmwbadmin,
There are a few reasons why the Post Notification might not have triggered:
- if you copied an older post (like cloned it) or edited an older post and updated the published date, this will not trigger the Post Notification. It only works on newly created posts.
- if you created this post via email, we have a known issue with Postie where Post Notifications are not firing with certain specific time zone shifting settings.
- If your Post Notification is pulling posts specific to a certain category or tag, please ensure your latest post matches that criteria.
- if the email was triggered, but didn’t actually send, you might want to review our list of potential sending issues. You can check under MailPoet > Help on the “system status” tab for additional error messages related to the actual sending of email.
If none of these reasons seem to apply, and this issue continues to happen (i.e. was not just a one-time event), I would recommend the following:
- create a replacement Post Notification email, and deactivate the current one, in case the current one has become corrupted somehow
- consider running a conflict test in case another plugin is affecting how posts get created, and thus blocking MailPoet’s ability to check for new posts
Switched from Server Cron (worked for last 4 years) to Action Scheduler. Issue solved
Hi there @mmwbadmin,
Thanks very much for this update, glad to hear you sorted it out! I should have thought of cron in my original post, sorry I missed that, and great job catching it. This will help the entire community so thanks very much for coming back and closing the loop.
