Hi, thank you for reaching out to us. I have submitted a message to the developers to investigate further your request.
Kind regards
@francoc30, It will trigger the account updated email notification (since their account will be updated to reflect that payment). When any existing member makes a payment, it will trigger that account updated email. You can customize that email to say some generic like the following:
Your payment has been applied to your membership profile. You can now access the content on our website.
Hi wp-insider-1,
Are you referring to the email “Email Settings (Account Upgrade Notification)” under Email Settings?
If not, then where can I change the email text?
@francoc30, I believe the feature wpinsider-1 is talking about can be found when you view/edit a member. You will notice the following feature Notify User.
Kind regards
I see what you meant. If I enable the Notify User, where can I find the content of the notification email? So I can modify it accordingly.
This method is good for a few members. I have more than a hundred members and they all expire and renew almost the same time. It will be tedious to do this one by one manually. Is there a better way to do this? An automatic email notification, like new member registration, would be the best.

Once you enable Notify User, you will see the corresponding fields displayed for you to edit.

Unfortunately at present no. However once you enable Notify User, you will not have to do this again.
Kind regards
Hi mbrsolution,
I did some testing on this notification.
I enable the Notification in the edit member panel. Then I saved the setting. The notification checkbox became unchecked again.
However, I checked the inbox of the member’s email account and found the notification email there.
So the notification is triggered as soon as the setting is saved and revert back to the original unchecked state. That means I have to repeat this for every member every time!
The Notification is not triggered by payment to PayPal when members renew. The desirable behaviour is to trigger a notification email on receipt of payment which you said is not available at this time.
Is there a workaround to more or less achieve the similar thing?
Yes, I am referring to the following section in the Email settings menu:
Email Settings (Account Upgrade Notification)
That email gets sent to the user when an existing member makes a payment for an upgrade or renewal.
At this stage the plugin doesn’t have any other email option for this.
@francoc30, my apologies. I made a mistake and directed you to the wrong settings.
Regards
@wpinsider-1, thanks for the clarification. That is workable in my use case. Thanks.
@mbrsolution, no problem at all. Thanks for the help.
