Post tags feature seems broken

The “add new tag” field alongside individual posts is not working. First of all, gray letters “add new tag” do not disappear when I start typing in the field – whatever I type just gets superimposed over the “add new tag” letters in the background. Then when I hit the “add” button, nothing happens.
