Post Types not showing in Basic Setup

    Hi

    I’m trying to get started with the Basic Setup but when I look at ‘Activate for these post types:’ there are no post types listed.

    I have created posts in the ‘posts’ post type and also posts in custom post type and set the custom taxonomies.

    Is there something else I should be doing?

    Hi @samplifier82,

    BTF works with *custom post types*
    https://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Post_Types#Custom_Post_Types

    It seems like you’re attempting to use BTF with the “post” post type which is a native core post type to WordPress. It can’t be used with BTF 🙂

    You need to register a custom post type instead.

    Many thanks for your reply. Sorry I wasn’t clearer – I have in fact already created a custom post type but it’s not showing up in the Basic Setup. Could there be anything else preventing it from displaying?

    Just to add, I also have a custom taxonomy setup for that custom post type.

    Hi,

    Okay so whats the parameters for your custom post type when you register it?
    It has to be a public post type with archive 🙂
