%postal_code% not resolved

I’ve found another post from another user experiencing the same issue and strangely the post has been closed as resolved but it still persists.

I’ve added a new shipment provider with the following custom URL:
https://planzer-paket.ch/en/home/empfangen?sendungsNr=%number%&plz=%postal_code%

When I click the tracking link, the variable %number% is replaced while %postal_code% is not and I get and error page.

Please advice.
