Postie Stopped Processing Attachments

    Hey Postie team,

    We’ve been running Postie for a few weeks with not issues. Last night, it stopped processing emails with .zip or .csv attachments and now sends us emails that the file type is not allowed for security reasons. The only attachments we ever send are .zip and .csv, so not sure why it just stopped working last night.

    The posts are being added to the WP database, but there is no attachment included in them.

    Any ideas as to where to troubleshoot? I checked the allowed Mime types and Application is included in the text box.

    Any help is appreciated!

    One other note on this. I went in to the Media library for the site and uploaded a .csv file and a .zip file just fine. Both worked that way, so WordPress isn’t blocking the file type. It’s just Postie that won’t allow them.

    It is a little odd. Postie essentially just adds the file to the media library in the same way you would manually. WordPress itself notifies Postie if a file type is allowed or not.

    You can try installing the support addon http://postieplugin.com/downloads/support-addon/ and sending the results to [email protected] with a reference to this thread and I’ll take a look.

    Yeah, it’s odd that it just started happening today. We are running WordFence, so not sure whether maybe an update to that plugin might be causing an issue. Otherwise, just running the 2017 theme and maybe 3 other plugins. It’s a very stripped down site, so hopefully easy to troubleshoot.

    I’ll let our email jobs run tonight and see what happens. I have the support addon plugin running, so if it fails again overnight, i’ll send the debug files tomorrow.

    A fix was released yesterday that should address this.
