Posting galleries does not work

    Dear reader,
    I checked the current postings and do see simular remarks.
    But could not find a working solution yet.
    I have the newest WP and Plugin.
    not a lot of other pulgins since im pretty new to WP.
    as a thema i use Sunspot.

    when i try to post a Gallery, i do not get Code but i get a thumbnail of the first gallery picture with no further functionality in my page.

    i just tried a suggestion is saw in another post. i manually entered [nggallery id=1] and published.
    that works!!

    But that is of course not the final solution.

    What to do? do i do anything wrong? or should i wait for an update? or move to an older version of NextGEN gallery that produces code instead of a thumbnail?

    ridere.nl is my ‘project to build my first website…’ and i will leave to pages live for a couple of hours: “foto netgen pulgin’ is the one that works with the manual code. ‘foto nextgen plugin no code’ is the one generated by nextgen and does not work.

    check out the other posting also “NextGEN gallery Not working” where the same issue is worked on.
    Hope a solution is found!

    @dcampman – Looking at your site at http://ridere.nl/ I see there is no NextGEN JavaScript or CSS in the page source that would control the output of the NextGEN Gallery inserted display(s).

    Thank you very much for starting a topic for this issue as there is an immediate difference between your site and the other topic you posted in.

    In most cases there is a conflict with current theme or another active plugin, you should check those; but, in your case, it may be something much easier to sort out as I see you are using the “Default” WordPress Permalinks. I would suggest trying something like “Post name” or “Month name” in their place to see if this sorts out the issue first. Otherwise, go through the conflicts checks I noted above.

    @seth – As noted, this issue is different than the other issue and there is a very good chance yours will be different again. Please follow the forum rules (http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post) and create a new topic for your particular issue so we can try to help you there.

    Tnx for this…
    …but the simple change of the permalink settings in WP causes my website to stop working all together. no pages can ben found afterwards.
    looking for help on permalinks i get into a lot of ‘programming’ type of tips. i would have hoped that WP handles a setting change in permalinks….
    to bad.

    i’ll try some other (for me simpler) pluginns.

    @dcampman – Changing Permalinks should not break you site, at least not the way you are describing it. You might consider contacting your web hosting service to ensure your “server” can properly handle a WordPress installation … just in case.
