posting via email

    i am having trouble getting the feature that allows you make posts via email.
    i have entered all the relevent mail server details in the admin section. and the email account is created as appropriate.

    however when i send an email to the said email address, nothing happens. the mail stays in the mailbox and nothing gets added in WP.

    i run my own mailserver (argosoft) which is the same box as the webserver that WP is running on.

    any ideas ? i am using the latest build of WP.

    update… when i try to manually run the wp-mail.php script i get this error

    “Ooops POP3: premature NOOP OK, NOT an RFC 1939 Compliant server”

    Do a search for that, I found the answer yesterday for it. Now my proble is this one
    “There doesn’t seem to be any new mail.” Ive burned at least a work day goning on 2, on this. I shoulda paid the $100 on a real program that works on install, or has some real tech support.

    And before I get a “did you setup a cron for this”, yes! There is nothing in this forum that Ive read that explains how to fix this. My cron job works and this is the results.

    I am very new at blogging. I got wp set up but it will not run wp_mail.php. When I ran it manually it worked, but I can’t get cron to run it. I have searched and searched and find no answer. I double check my mail log-in and password. it is correct. So what must one do to get to post by email? You are right netpros, this free program is costing me time and time is money.

    I wish to apologize to the good folks at WordPress. My problem was on my server. Once I contacted my provider and they informed me of the correct method of setting up my cron job (which was contrary to their example on their cron tab page), I am up and running with email blogging.
