-you can look around in the database (normally available in your web hosting account in an area PHPMYADMIN) for the following tables: yourprefix_comments, yourprefix_commentmeta
-if you have older database backup copies you could look in the older versions of the database too for the tables
-if your “discussion” did not use “comments”, you might need to explore inside other tables in the database.

Thanks. Could you give me a hint where to look. The cpanel search facility on the site does not find PHPMYADMIN

Hi,
the archived pages do not show any content either (starting June 2022), see https://web.archive.org/web/20220627181535/https://avantgardescience.com/discussion/
Nor can I find any comments on your site. What exactly are you looking for? A post, a page, comments?
Hi. Thank you. I did not know I could do that. On the Discussion page there were 4 posts. That is the only place on the site comments are allowed.
I was very surprised to find that the posts only appeared when I clicked on the date of the thread. I am still getting started understanding comments. Now nothing!
Thanks Lisa. It is standard CPanel. I can connect with ftp but it only shows me the same structure.
Thanks for all the help. Seems like they are gone. Marking as resolved.
