• I imported my blog from MT, and then decided to assign categories that I created in WP to the posts. Now all the posts that have been recategorized have disappeared and only the ones I left categorized as General still appear, even in the control panel. If I do a search by category, they don’t show up.
I looked in my database, and the posts are still there, but their post_status does not say Publish. I don’t know how to find them to change the status.

I assume you’re using WP1.02. This happened to me, too, but I found a way to fix things. Missing posts can be retrieved and saved. All one needs to have is the post number. Just copy the URI that would edit another post, and replace the post number of that one with that of the missing post. Once into the edit screen, you should be able to republish the entry by clicking on “publish.” This will make it show up again.
To prevent imported MT posts from disappearing in the first place when editing, click on “Save and continue editing” and then to “publish.”
