• When editing a page or a post ….or creating new ones, nearly all of the text disappears when I click the submit or save button.

    Very mysterious.

I recently moved the site from one server (IIS) to another (Apache)

I’ve tried disabling all of the plugins.

It looks like the culprit is an apostrophe (‘) single quote.

Everything after an apostrophe is deleted when I click the publish button.

    What gives?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

I have tried deactivating all of the plugins…..no joy.

I haven’t tried a new theme, this theme was working fine on another server. Would a theme still cause this problem in the admin area?

I’ll try re-setting the plugins folder.

I’ve many other folks with this same issue, what was the fix?

Themes can – and sometimes do – bring down the whole admin area. So, yes, you do need to switch to the default 2013 theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
