• Hi, I think this has been asked by many people about their sites, but I’ve just discovered it may be happening to me. I believe my posts have not been showing up in the WordPress reader after going self-hosted – after searching for my blog/posts in the Reader, they don’t show up. I understand that posts will not automatically show up for self-hosted sites but not sure what needs to be done. Can someone help?

  • There are two separate issues here.

    1) The WordPress Reader (or more accurately, the WordPress.com Reader) is an RSS feed Reader. It allows anyone with a WordPress.com account (whether they publish a site or not) to subscribe and read ANY valid RSS feed, irrespective of what was used to publish the site or where it is hosted.

    2) You can connect your self-hosted (aka ww.wp.xz.cn) site to WordPress.com with the Jetpack plugin to make your posts become discoverable in the WordPress.com Reader’s Search feature and in related posts. This will also let you add a “follow” button to your site that people can click to follow your site on WordPress.com.
