Why do some posts fail to embed? Error message says post is not public, yet it is public. Any post of this format e.g.

willl not embed. If it has permalink in it, it will not work, but if it has post, it works fine.

I got the link the same way as any link – for example, on a facebook post, click on the time/date link, to open the post. Then copy the URL.
Some URLS contain permalinks, some don’t – I have no idea why but that’s what happens
