My web host has identified three files uploaded to my hosting in the last 24 hours that have been flagged as suspicious (they’re listed at the bottom). Given that Matomo hasn’t been updated for three weeks (I’m using Version 5.8.2), can I assume that the files are actually safe and the result of plug-in activity, or is something nefarious going on?

    Thanks

    Martin

Hello Martin, yes these files are normal. The first two are generated based on the third, but the third shouldn’t just update on its own. The file contents should look like this: https://github.com/matomo-org/device-detector/blob/master/regexes/bots.yml ? If it doesn’t look like this, then there may be an issue.

Thanks, Dizzy … seems as if the web host security software came up with false positives, though that’s better than missing nasty stuff!

    Best wishes
