Pre Populate a field

Hi,

Is it possible to pre populate a field with the details of a referrer source using an html link?

For Example I have a field which ask the user to tell me who sent them to teh site, search engine, broker etc but I now have requests from brokers to use banner ads with code such as

a href=’http://www.mywebsite.com’ Visit Mywebsite Here

or

a href=’http://www.mywebsite.com&#8217; <img src =’http://www.mywebsite.com/125_logo.gif’&gt;

Is there any source code I can add to allow a field, say source ID to be pre filled with the URL or name of the linking source?
