• Hi
I’m trying to fix some optimization issues on PageSpeed Insights
I’m adding those 2 paths comma-separated in the extraTab under the Preload Specific Request field but I still have the same issue flagged, also after deleting the cache.

    https://importantenough.com/wp-content/plugins/wpdiscuz/themes/default/css/fonts/sqr721c-webfont.woff2,https://importantenough.com/wp-content/plugins/wpdiscuz/assets/third-party/font-awesome-5.13.0/webfonts/fa-brands-400.woff2

    Am I doing anything wrong?
    Thanks

  • I’m having the same issue. I tried preloading them (like marcocarboni said above), but it didn’t work. So now I changed my fonts, so that I’m no longer using the fonts that PageSpeed Insights are having an issue with. I’m just using Century Gothic, which shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve cleared my cache as well.

for @marcocarboni I see the preload in the HTML source, all is as it should be, afraid I have no idea why GPSI still complains about those :-/

@jendyer81 in your case the preloads are not in the HTML source, are the preloads still configured or did you remove them?

I removed them — figuring why would they be trying to load if I’m not even using them? Do you want me to try to put them back in there again anyway?

wouldn’t be of much use as you’re not using the fonts any more 😉

and less fonts = less downloads = faster site after all!

I agree…any idea why Google Page Insights would still say these fonts are needing to be preloaded (says it’s slowing down my site even if it’s actually not…). I don’t want to have a poor Insights score since I know Google uses it to rank websites. Would this be an issue with my theme you think? Thanks!!

afraid GPSI is somewhat of a black box, no idea why it does not “see” the preload which -at least in marcocarboni’s case- was present in the HTML .. :-/
