• Hi Daan,

I followed recommendation to do preloading of some fonts but it increased my TTFB from like 0.160 to 0.400, it’s quite visible with the eye as well, not just tests.

Is there a way I can reduce TTFB while using this preloading?

    Thank you.

    Preloading shouldn’t affect TTFB.

What other plugins are you using that (are supposed to) improve performance?

    Hi Daan,

I’m on Cloudflare and also using WP Cloudflare Super Page Cache plugin (this one has always given me under 0.200 TTFB) and LSCache (just page optimization, no cache).

    Hi Max,

Sorry for never getting back to you. It’s been a busy few weeks/month with the baby and all that 😉

Looking at your configuration, I still do suspect that it’s your configuration causing the high TTFB. Preload doesn’t do anything in server response time. It plainly adds a line of text to (almost) the top of your page source. That’s it.
