• Hello,

I am using a Plugin that requires me to enter an url path and then picks a random image from there, which is being displayed in a widget. As I dont want every image in my uploads to potentially show up there, I need a plugin that gives my media some structure. This must come with custom or other urls paths, that I can use to seperate my images from each other. E.g. I will have /uploads/someimages and /uploads/otherimages, so I can tell said plugin to only choose images from either of the paths.

In case this is possible, can I organize said paths via FTP, or do I need to manually upload them via some kind of importer or drag and drop in the media library?

Thanks in advance. Please also tell me, if the free or the premium version will be the right for me to pick 🙂

All the plugins in the WordPress repository are free as is Media Library Plus. Some like MLP do have pro versions that can be purchased and include extra features.

With MLP you can organize your images in different folders. And you can upload using drag and drop. Images can also be upload by FTP and then added to the Library by syncing a folder’s contents. But you have to use the WordPress Media Library to add images to posts and pages. Media Library Plus Pro allows you to navigate folders and insert images while editing posts and pages.

Can i create albums with the plugin? How?
    Thanks

The WordPress Jetpack plugin has the capability to create albums from media library images using a shortcode. The pro version of Media Library Plus makes use of this feature, https://maxgalleria.com/downloads/media-library-plus-pro/. Otherwise you can install our free Gallery plugin, MaxGalleria and it works with both versions of Media Library Plus, https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/maxgalleria/ & https://maxgalleria.com/.

As long as i can tell, WordPress Jetpack plugin does not support album creation (a set of galleries), nor WP, but if you know the shortcode could you please share?

    Thanks!

Here is a link (https://en.support.wordpress.com/gallery/) to a page about Galleries and Slideshows for WordPress.com, not ww.wp.xz.cn. But the section on Galleries that is 1/3 down the page applies to gallery shortcodes, when they are turned on in Jetpack.

Here is an example shortcode: [gallery type="circle" size="thumbnail" ids="308,309,310"]
