How can we preselect a default amount. I found no option to do that.

Thanks a lot for you prompt reply
I am using WooCommerce subscription PRO to create variation for frequency

SO I guess I need to put subscription price in variation.
It seems to work.

but I guess then I can not have different default price for each variation..

Hi, yes, you can only set one default price.
