    Hi there,

So I’ve noticed in the last couple of weeks after filling out the link info & pressing submit, it doesn’t create the link.

I’ve now had to search for it right after submitting it just to see if it actually saved.

In fact, I think this bug has been around a lot longer than a couple of weeks, because I saw this issue months ago when I came across a link didn’t actually work & I know I created it, b/c I always copy the link from inside before pressing submit so clearly I was right there creating it before copying it.

    Please fix, this isn’t good.

Thanks a ton & I like your plugin when it’s working.

Ok, this is really bad now. I just tried 4 times & it won’t save/stick. And I need this link.

    Hello @ep2012

Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry for the trouble you’ve experienced. I understand how frustrating this must be, and I’m here to help.

The issue may be related to caching or a plugin conflict. Please try the following steps:

    1. Purge and Disable Caching
      • Clear both page and object cache using your caching plugin (e.g., WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, etc.) or hosting dashboard.
      • Temporarily disable caching and test link creation again.
    2. Check for Plugin Conflicts
      • Deactivate all plugins except BetterLinks.
      • Test link creation, then reactivate plugins one by one to identify any conflicts.
    3. Update BetterLinks
      • Ensure you’re using the latest version of BetterLinks and WordPress.

If the issue persists, please send the following to help us investigate further:

    • Console Screenshot:
      • Open your browser, go to the BetterLinks page, and press F12 (or Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows, Cmd+Option+I on Mac) to open Developer Tools.
      • Navigate to the Console tab.
      • Perform the action (creating a link), then take a screenshot of any errors shown in the Console.

Thank you for your patience, and I appreciate your support of BetterLinks. Let me know how it goes!

    Best regards,
    Pial

    Hi Pial,

    Sorry for the delay.

So I didn’t get a chance to do anything & I think you guys fixed it because the last 2 times I created one in the last 48 hours, it’s worked.

I thought maybe it was a browser issue because I finally got it to work on Chrome, but when I tried it the last two times on the browser I use all the time & it worked, so it must have been something on your end since I didn’t clear any cache.

Did you guys do something to fix it?

I’d have to try it another 2-3 times to confirm 100% it’s working now.

    Thanks

    Michelle

    Hi Michelle,

Thanks for the update! It looks like it was a caching issue on your end. Sometimes, cache can cause inconsistencies, even if it eventually resolves itself.

Glad to hear it’s working now! If anything comes up again, feel free to reach out.

    Best,
    Pial
