• I’ve installed a new catalog this week and have been trialling the premium version. But when I’ve tried activating the Pretty Url option, whenever I clicked on the product link, I get a 404 error. The menu sections work until you click on a item.

Turning it off, everything goes back to normal.

I tried going into permanlink and saving to refresh it as in the previous forum posts I’ve seen.

Ideally I want to have pretty url enabled before I start putting any data into it.

    Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi rogpalmeruk,

Does your product slug has any special characters? If so please ensure that you just use English alphabets & numbers only for the product slug. Also, as a test could you add a custom “Permalink Base” by navigating to the “SEO” area of the “Options” tab and see if the product page loads correctly? Please re-save the permalink structure after making any changes to the “Permalink Base” or after enabling/disabling “Pretty Permalinks”, you could follow the steps below to flush your permalink structure:

    – In the main menu, go to “Settings > Permalinks”.
    – Scroll down, if needed, and click “Save Changes”. No need to actually make any changes.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I went back and double checked the slugs on the few products i created and removed any “-” that i had. changed the Pretty SEO option on, set a permabase (catalog), refreshed the permalinks…

    still got the 404 error.
