Hi nicholasbx,
You can put 2 sorts of IP addresses into “Whitelist of extra IP addresses prior to country code (CIDR)“. One is your client IP address, and another is your server address.
I think your client IP address (I assume it is provided by ISP) may be changed frequently. Note that this kind of IP address is not only for you. And your server address also may be changed by the hosting provier if you don’t have fixed IP. So you should specified these addresses with CIDR notation.
You can get the range of IPs at http://whois-service.com/ for example.
Resurrection from the lock-out is not so difficult. So please try!
Hi tokkonopapa,
I tried some things but now I am getting the forbidden error on my wordpress admin panel only. Does that mean I locked myself out?
Here is a link of where I am being redirected to:
http://www.themodernfighter.com/wp-admin/?ip-geo-block-auth-nonce=3a67e2cb7b
I can still access my site as a normal visitor though.
Thanks
Hi,
Please ignore my previous message, I fixed that, it seems like when I block a country, only the admin area is locked, can I lock entire website so that even normal visitors can t see my posts?
Thanks
Hi nicholasbx,
Unfortunately, current version doesn’t have a function to block accesses to the public facing pages (aka frontend).
But several times, I’ve been requested to equip this functionality (ex. https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/feature-suggestion-redirection-for-certain-pagesposts-etc). So I’m now dedicating my time to develop that feature. Current status is still alpha version (You can try my site).
I hope you to keep watching this plugin!
Thanks.
Thanks very much π
Is there an estimate when this feature will be available?
Thanks
Sorry for my late replay but I’ve been re-thinnking about the milestone of development of this plugin.
Is there an estimate when this feature will be available?
It may take a couple of months to release a stable version because I’d like to challenge a feature to provide maximum compatibility with caching plugins such as WP Super Cache and W3 Total Cache.
Current version 3.0.0a can handle only the “Late Initialization” of those plugins.
So my proposal is one of follows:
-
iQ Block Country
Yeah, active installs 20,000+.
-
IP Geo Block 3.0.0a
Hmm… it’s still alpha version, but I would very much appreciate your cooperation if you give me some feedbacks or suggestions.
Thanks.
No problem about the late reply π
Are there any risks to use the alpha? I tried installing it but it failed unfortunately.
For now I think I will go with iQ Block Country, and then start using your plugin when it is released π
Thanks

Thank you for your testing and sorry about fail. I should not call for testing until I release beta version π

OK, good. I also recommend to execute clean uninstallation of this plugin. You can re-install and activate the stable version of this plugin, and turn “Remove all settings at uninstallation” on at “Plugin settings, then deactivate and delete.
Thanks for your posting this thread. Good luck!
