Preventing permalink change on post update

    I’m having an odd problem where Permalinks of posts are changing upon a post being edited and updated.

    Essentially we’ve imported from another CMS into WordPress, and thus have non-Wordpress formatted URLS (they have capital letters in them). They import fine with the custom URL and display fine as such, until we edit the post. When we click edit the custom URL is displayed in the Edit window, however, upon clicking Update the permalink is rewritten to have all small caps (and potentially other formatting changes too, but it’s the small URL that I’ve noticed).

    Does anyone know how we might go about disabling this change to the permalink of posts upon editing?

    What was that another CMS and how did you imported?

    Hi nsathees, thanks for the reply 🙂 It was a custom-built CMS. Unfortunately the Import via RSS didn’t work (partial RSS feed etc…) so it was a direct database import, matching table to table.

    Looking at the coding, the existing URL appears to be inserted into the WordPress database into the ‘post_name’ column
